Hello!

So glad we found each other!

Especially - as you likely already know - it can be a lonely experience to live far from family. Sometimes you feel like the only one trying to navigate the longing, the guilt; that feeling of being split in two.

But when you start to discover more families like you, it brings an instant feeling of connection - and relief.

Knowing you are not alone, that others understand the experience of raising family far from home, is the reassurance you need to get through the hard days.

I wonder if our story sounds similar to yours...

My husband and I moved to Australia in 2019 and welcomed our daughter in 2022. That was when the challenge of living far from family became more apparent than ever. Suddenly you see the importance of having your village nearby, and you feel the grandparent-shaped void in your child's life. You feel guilty for the separation, the moments missed, the lack of bonding. And you can only imagine the heartbreak the grandparents go through.

The long distance has been difficult on our whole family. But we do our best to stay positive and to ensure our daughter grows up knowing her grandparents and loved ones who live far away. Regular phone calls, video calls, exchanging of media - even old-school letters and parcels in the post, the sending of gifts and keepsakes to know we are thinking of each other.

Speaking of which, that was how we started.

My Mum had been looking for a gift for her granddaughter. Something to remind her of her, to strengthen their bond, to help her understand that her "Gaga" may live far away but that didn't mean she was not "there". After searching online, however, she could not find what she was looking for...

So, we decided to do something about it ourselves.

Since books are already a powerful way to connect, we wanted to help those who could not be there in person to benefit from the special bonding time that is reading time.

We brainstormed the best style of children's book for families who live far apart. One that could explain the distance in a fun, informative and engaging way while also sparking meaningful bonding opportunities, such as conversation starters and topics in common, related to culture and tradition that are often part of the child's heritage too - facilitating feelings of familiarity and a deeper sense of connection no matter distance.

So, what began as one grandma's way of bridging the miles between her and her grandchild, became a series of children's books for all families who live far apart:

Children's Books To Bond Over

We take great pride and care in creating the same magic for families across the world who could also use a meaningful way to bridge the miles.

Our wish is that you and your family can feel closer together through the magic of our children's books - and for you to know, you are not alone.
